Trends in Educational Research (TER journal) follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest academic integrity, objectivity, and quality standards in all published articles. This process involves anonymously evaluating manuscripts and is the cornerstone of our commitment to producing reliable, impactful scholarly work.
Authors submit their manuscripts via the journal’s online submission system and ensure that all identifying information is removed from the manuscript text and file properties.
The editorial team will conduct an initial review to ensure the submission conforms to the journal’s scope, formatting requirements, and quality standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors without external review.
In the double-blind process, neither the authors nor the reviewers know the identity of the other. This ensures impartiality and rules out possible bias.
Authors must ensure their manuscript does not contain self-identifying details.
Reviewers receive anonymized manuscripts and related materials.
The editorial team selects two or more experts with relevant expertise to evaluate the manuscript. The reviewers are chosen based on their academic qualifications, familiarity with the topic, and the absence of conflicts of interest.
Reviewers assess submissions based on the following:
Relevance: Alignment with the journal’s focus and contribution to multicultural education research.
Originality: Novelty of the research and its potential to advance the field.
Methodology: Appropriateness and rigor of research methods and analysis.
Clarity: Quality of writing, organization, and adherence to the journal’s formatting guidelines.
Impact: Theoretical or practical implications for educators, policymakers, or researchers.
After reviewing the manuscript, the reviewers provide detailed comments and one of the following recommendations:
Accept: The manuscript is ready for publication with minor or no revisions.
Minor Revisions: The manuscript is accepted pending minor changes.
Major Revisions: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and a second review before publication.
Reject: The manuscript in its submitted form is not suitable for publication.
The editor decides based on the reviewers’ feedback and communicates the decision to the authors.
Author Revisions: Authors revise the manuscript based on reviewer feedback and provide a detailed response outlining how they addressed each comment in a separate file.
If necessary, the editor may return revised manuscripts that require significant changes to the original reviewers for further evaluation.
The editor decides on the manuscript’s acceptance, considering reviewer recommendations and the journal’s standards.
Accepted articles undergo copyediting, formatting, and proofreading before publication, and galley proofs will be sent to the authors.
The TER journal upholds transparency, fairness, and ethical standards in its peer review process. All reviewers must follow the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers to ensure submissions’ confidentiality of submissions and provide constructive feedback.
